The new Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome was officially opened on 11 October 2002 under the name of MACRO , under the direction of Danilo Eccher . In the same year , in two pavilions of the former slaughterhouse in Testaccio , has opened a branch of the museum called MACRO Testaccio . In 2001 , following an international competition held by the city of Rome , the French architect Odile Decq received the commission for the extension to the museum. The works started in 2004 and completed in May 2010 after an intense project of expansion and renovation , the museum was reopened to the public in December 2010.
The entire ventilation system is entrusted to FLEX range of air handling units , adapted to the specific needs of each environment to serve, with different capacities and characteristics specified in the design phase by the team of engineers.
